Credentials: Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Professional Training and Affiliations: I received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University in 1998. Following commencement, I pursued a Masters Degree in Counseling graduating in 2001. Becoming a member of the Texas Counseling Association in 2000 has continued to develop my professional practice and keep me involved in Texas legislature.
Clinical Focus: After spending the first four years of my career working with children, adolescents and families with a not for profit agency, I truly see the power of family. After relocating to The Woodlands, my practice has broadened. Even though working with families and children remains an important part of my time, I have thoroughly enjoyed expanding my private practice to include more adults and couples. Currently maintaining a general practice with clients of varying ages (five to 63), I am pleased with the diversity. There are a variety of clinical issues I enjoy working with including marriage and family issues, depression, anxiety, abuse, grief, childhood disorders, adjustment disorders, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, as well as anger management.
Interests: Growing up as an Army Brat, I quickly learned to value and appreciate other countries, cultures, and people. I love to travel and experience new places and ideas. When relaxing in the Lone Star State, weekends in Galveston, fishing and other water sports are the norm. Live music, reading, attempting to grow a green thumb, and volunteering at my local animal shelter keep me busy. I enjoy all sports with a highlight on soccer and baseball. Though I have hung up my cleats, I still enjoy watching games live or on TV. As I always try to root for the home team, I am a diehard Red Sox and Mets fan. Please note, in a professional capacity, I do not discriminate against any Yankees or Braves fans.
